JUVÉDERM® is a smooth consistency hyaluronic acid gel filler for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds). JUVÉDERM® flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. Like Restylane and Perlane, it is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that can be used to add volume. As we age, hyaluronic acid diminishes in the skin, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds. JUVÉDERM® can help to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid, adding volume and smoothing the appearance wrinkles and skin.
JUVÉDERM® Ultra is used to contour and add volume to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds, such as “smile lines” or nasolabial folds, while JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus is a more robust formulation for correction and volumizing of deeper folds and wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® is the ONLY hyaluronic acid filler FDA approved to last up to 1 year and is the is the first to demonstrate its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. JUVÉDERM® utilizes a high concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid for long-lasting results.
JUVÉDERM® is injected into the mid to deep dermis for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. The process takes approximately 15-20 minutes and results are immediate. Recovery time is minimal. Side effects are usually mild to moderate, lasting 7 days or less, and include temporary injection-site reactions such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps.
